UN Salvage Drums & Overdrums – ADR 4.1.1.19 Salvage Drums 1A2T & Large Salvage Packagings

Overdrums (yellow plastic safety drums) are approved for solid dangerous goods only, in packing groups I, II and III (1H2/Xxxx/S). Their UN approval code does not include the letter T.

Salvage drums and salvage packagings carry the letter T in their UN approval code. They are approved for solid or liquid dangerous goods when used to carry a damaged, defective or leaking package. Salvage drums are approved for packing group II by default; their use for packing group I goods is sometimes accepted for lack of technical alternatives. 11A/X steel boxes may also be used as salvage packagings.

Depending on the model and intended use, inner polyethylene liners and vermiculite (cushioning and absorption) may be required. Use in accordance with ADR 4.1.1.19. Please contact us if you have any questions.
