The VLITEX Fire-Resistant Cover for Enclosed Battery Modules was specifically designed to protect enclosed battery modules. Thanks to its sturdy silica-glass fiber fabric with a vermiculite coating, it offers exceptional heat resistance and safety in sensitive environments such as car dealerships, workshops, and industrial settings.
Material: silica
fabric Coating: vermiculite
Construction: flame-retardant
sewing thread Temperature resistance: up to 1,150 °C / peak up to 1,800 °C
Reusable: single-use
Dimensions: 3.0 m x 4.0 m
Weight: approx. 14 kg
Thanks to its high-temperature resistance and innovative combination of materials, the VLITEX closed battery module fire blanket meets the highest safety requirements and provides reliable protection in critical situations.
Enclosed battery modules form the basis of modern energy storage solutions and are used in a wide range of applications, such as electric vehicles, residential energy storage, and industrial energy storage. However, if a battery module catches fire, dangerous damage can occur quickly. This is where the VLITEX fire-resistant cover for sealed battery modules offers the ideal solution.
Effective protection for enclosed battery modules
The VLITEX fire blanket for sealed battery modules was specially designed to prevent the spread of fire within sealed battery modules. Made of robust silica fibers and coated with vermiculite, it withstands temperature spikes of up to 1,800°C. This high-temperature resistance makes it the optimal choice for sensitive applications.
The blanket is placed over enclosed battery modules as a precaution and provides effective flame isolation in the event of a fire. It thus prevents the spread of fire and protects the surrounding area. In a matter of seconds, it provides a critical safety barrier that minimizes damage and buys valuable time to take further action.
Applications and Properties
The VLITEX closed battery module fire blanket is particularly suitable for:
Weighing approximately 14 kg and measuring 3.0 m x 4.0 m, the blanket is compact, easy to handle, and quickly ready for use—ideal for daily use in demanding environments.
Silicone-coated glass fabric
This material consists of fine glass fibers, known for their high tensile strength, heat resistance, and good insulating properties. The silicone coating enhances fire-retardant properties, provides thermal insulation, and increases resistance to weather, UV rays, and chemicals.
Silica (silicon dioxide)
Silica fiber fabric consists largely of pure silica and is characterized by even higher heat resistance. It retains its strength and flexibility even at extremely high temperatures and is chemically inert, meaning it does not react with most chemicals.
Temperature Resistance
Silicone-coated fiberglass fabric, such as that used in VLITEX PREMIUM, withstands temperatures up to 1,000 °C and even 1,750 °C for short periods. Silica fiber fabric is more heat-resistant and withstands temperatures up to 1,800 °C (VLITEX SUPERIOR PRO).
Costs
Silica fire blankets are more expensive because the production of pure silica fibers is more complex. In contrast, silicone-coated fiberglass fire blankets are more cost-effective.
Reusability
Special glass-fiber ceilings can be reused multiple times, depending on the fire load. Silica ceilings, on the other hand, are designed for single-use only, as their fibers shrink when exposed to heat.
